Maintenance tips for electric vehicle friction plates

Mar 05, 2025

With the development of science and technology and the enhancement of environmental awareness, electric vehicles are more and more favored by people. Today we will talk about some of the electric car brake pads maintenance skills.

1. Regularly check friction pad wear
Generally speaking, every 5000 kilometers or so you need to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the brake pads. If the thickness is found to be lower than the standard value recommended by the manufacturer, new friction pads should be replaced in time. After reaching a certain level of wear and tear will send out a more obvious signal to prompt the owner needs to be replaced.

2. Pay attention to cleaning and maintenance
In order to maintain good braking performance and extend the service life, regular cleaning of the braking system is very necessary. You can use special cleaning agent to remove the friction plate surface and the gap in the dust, oil and other impurities, to avoid these substances affect the normal working condition of the heat dissipation effect or cause abnormal noise and other problems. At the same time, be careful not to let the cleaner contact with the rubber parts to avoid damage to them.

3. Avoid prolonged heavy pressure on the brake pedal
Minimize the number of sharp braking in the daily driving process, and do not habitually put your foot on the brake pedal to exert slight pressure. This will not only reduce the unnecessary wear and tear of the friction pads, but also effectively reduce energy consumption and improve mileage performance.
