Manufacturing Process

 

Cnc machining: Cnc machining is generally used for brake pad mold as the cavity of the brake pad mold. The complex shape of the cavity is accurately machined through programming. In the machining process, the selection of tools and the setting of cutting parameters are very important. For the machining of mold steel, carbide tools are generally used. The cutting speed can be between 50-200m/min, the feed rate can be between 0.05-0.3mm/r, and the back cutting amount can be between 0.5-3mm, depending on the tool and material, to ensure machining accuracy and surface quality.

 

Edm: Edm is essential for some molds with complex shapes, such as those with deep holes, narrow grooves, etc. It uses pulse discharge between the electrode and the workpiece to erode the material, thereby machining the desired shape.

 

Quenching and tempering: This is a key heat treatment step to improve the performance of mold steel. Through quenching and tempering, mold steel can obtain good comprehensive mechanical properties and improve its hardness, strength and toughness.

 

Nitriding treatment: Nitriding treatment can form a very hard nitride layer on the mold surface, improving the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the mold. The nitriding temperature is generally between 500-550℃, and the nitriding time can be between 10-50 hours depending on the requirements of the mold and the nitriding method.
