Cashew nutshell oil friction powder is currently the most widely used and the most important kind of organic friction powder in the friction industry at home and abroad. Cashew nut shell oil is extracted from cashew nut shells, and cashew nut shell oil is used as raw material to produce organic friction powder with excellent viscoelasticity by decarboxylation of cashew acid through chemical polymerization, curing and high-temperature treatment, and then producing cashew phenol through heat treatment.

Stabilization of friction coefficient: As the temperature rises, the cashew nutshell oil component makes the contact between friction material and counterpart relatively stable, which can effectively stabilize the coefficient of friction, and greatly improve the braking performance of automobiles and other equipments when running at high temperature.

 

Reduce noise: Because of its chemical structure has excellent elasticity and high plasticity, after adding it can effectively improve the porosity of friction material, absorb friction vibration and reduce the generation of braking noise.

 

Reduce wear: the friction powder can reduce the hardness of the friction material, reduce the wear of the coupling surface, and prolong the service life of the brake drums and brake discs and other coupling parts.

 

Good heat resistance: even if it works for a long time under high temperature environment, it can maintain stable physical and chemical properties, and reduce the performance degradation caused by temperature rise.

 

Good chemical stability: good resistance to different working media, can maintain stable performance in a variety of environments.

 


Applications
Mainly used in automotive brake pads, clutch plates and other types of friction products, also used in drum and disk brake pads and friction pads, help to improve the friction stability and service life of the product.

 

 


Mechanism of action in friction materials
Improvement of contact state: During the friction process, cashew nutshell oil friction powder can fill the microscopic unevenness of the friction surface, make the contact between the friction material and the dyadic parts more even, increase the real contact area, and thus stabilize the braking torque.

 

 

Thermal cushioning and regulation: With its high thermal stability and coefficient of thermal expansion, it can absorb part of the heat at high temperature and regulate the pressure distribution of the friction interface through its own expansion to avoid local overheating and pressure concentration.

 

 

 

Chemical protection and lubrication: Its chemical composition on the friction surface to form a protective film, reduce the direct contact between the friction material and the dyadic parts and wear, and at the same time play a certain lubricating effect, reduce the fluctuation of the coefficient of friction.
