Brake Classification

Oct 07, 2024

Classification of brakes

① Friction brake. Braking is performed by using the friction between the brake and the moving parts.

② Non-friction brake. The structure of the brake mainly includes magnetic powder brake (using the shear force generated by the magnetization of magnetic powder for braking), magnetic eddy current brake (adjusting the magnitude of the braking torque by adjusting the excitation current), and water eddy current brake.

According to the structure of the brake component
It is divided into external block brake, internal tension shoe brake, belt brake, disc brake, etc.

According to the working state of the brake component
It is divided into normally closed brake (usually in a tight state, and external force is required to release the brake) and normally open brake (usually in a loose state, and external force is required to brake)

According to the control method
It is divided into manual, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromagnetic force-operated brakes.
