Riveting machine is used to connect metal or non-metallic materials, by deforming the rivet to achieve a tight connection, the common types are as follows:
► Classified by power source
Pneumatic Riveting Machine
Compressed air is used as the power source to drive the riveting gun head through the pneumatic system to carry out riveting operation. Its advantages are simple structure, low cost, easy to operate, suitable for small and medium-sized riveting operations, such as electronic equipment, automotive interior parts riveting. The disadvantage is that the riveting force is relatively small, for some large-scale or high-intensity riveting tasks may not be able to do.
Hydraulic Riveting Machine
Using the pressure generated by the hydraulic system to drive the riveting mechanism, can produce a larger riveting force, suitable for a variety of materials and thickness of the riveting work, especially in the field of large-scale structural components, bridge construction, shipbuilding and other areas of wide application. Its riveting precision is high, can be adjusted through the hydraulic system pressure and flow to accurately control the riveting process, but the equipment volume is larger, the cost is relatively high.
Electric Riveting Machine
Adopting electric motor as the power source, through the deceleration mechanism and transmission device to convert the rotary motion of the motor into the linear motion required for riveting. Electric riveting machine has the advantages of fast riveting speed, high efficiency, low noise, etc. It is suitable for automated production lines and occasions that require high riveting speed, such as home appliance manufacturing, automotive parts production and so on. However, its riveting force is generally not as large as the hydraulic riveting machine.
► Classification by riveting process
Pressure riveting machine
By applying pressure to the rivet, the rivet undergoes plastic deformation, thus connecting two or more parts together. Pressure riveting machine is suitable for a variety of shapes and sizes of rivets, riveting process is relatively smooth, can ensure the quality and appearance of riveting. Commonly used in thin plate connection, chassis cabinet manufacturing and other fields.
Rotary Riveting Machine
Using the rotation and axial movement of the rivet head, the rivet is gradually deformed during the rotation process to achieve riveting. Rotary riveting machine has high riveting efficiency, good riveting quality, and can effectively reduce the damage of rivets and workpieces. It is suitable for riveting all kinds of materials, especially in the automotive, motorbike, aerospace and other industries with more applications.
Self-pierce riveting machine
No need to pre-punch, directly punch the rivets into the connected material, so that the rivets in the material to form a mechanical bite, so as to achieve the connection. Self-pierce riveting machine is suitable for connecting plates of different materials and thicknesses, especially the connection of lightweight materials such as aluminium alloy, which is widely used in the manufacture of automobile bodywork, and can effectively improve the production efficiency and quality of the bodywork.
►Classification according to structural form
Desktop riveting machine
Compact structure, small size, generally installed on the workbench to use. Suitable for small parts riveting, easy to operate, easy to load and unload manually, commonly used in electronics, jewellery and other industries of small batch production.
Vertical Riveting Machine
The machine body is vertical structure, good stability, can be equipped with a larger power system and riveting mechanism, suitable for larger size and weight of the workpiece riveting. In machinery manufacturing, hardware processing and other industries are more commonly used.
Horizontal riveting machine
Horizontal arrangement of the body, usually with a longer working stroke and larger riveting space, suitable for some special shapes or sizes of longer workpiece riveting, such as large pipelines, bridges and other components riveting.
